Fernleaf Cactus- Epiphyllum chrysocardium
This epiphytic plant is native to Central and South America and has broad, wavy leaves that trail as it matures. It prefers bright, indirect sunlight, well-draining, sandy soil, and a dry environment.
Light
Place in bright, indirect light, or dappled sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves. Gradually introduce the cactus to more light over several week.
Water
Water when the soil is dry, about every two weeks during the growing season. Reduce watering in the winter. The leaves will shrivel when the plant needs water.
Temperature
Keep the cactus in a warm environment with a stable temperature between 18°C and 24°C. Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes. In the winter, move the cactus to a cooler place to encourage budding.
Humidity
Mist the leaves occasionally to increase humidity, especially during dry months.
