Philodendron is native to South and Central America and the West Indies. It is a very popular houseplant, offering year-round beauty and easy care. It's also known as the "sweetheart plant" for its heart-shaped green leaves.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. It can survive in medium light conditions, but growth may slow. Do not put it in full, direct sunlight as it will burn the foliage.

Water: Water when the 95% of soil is dry.

*We recommend  Bottom-watering, sometimes called reverse watering, is when you place a plant in a bowl of water, allowing the soil and roots to soak water from the bottom up. (Naturally, your pot needs to have drainage holes for this to work.)

Humidity: Normal household humidity is fine for  Philodendron Birkin, but higher humidity encourages larger leaves. Your plant will benefit from regular misting.

Temperature: Your plant will grow well in temperatures between 65-80 degrees during the day and above 55 degrees at night. Keep it away from drafts, especially during the winter months.

Food: Feed once a month during spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer for indoor plants. Feed every other month during the fall and winter.

Toxicity: Philodendron leaves are toxic to pets and humans.

Botanical Name: Philodendron 'Squamiferum' * Common Name(s): Red Bristle Philodendron, Hairy Philodendron * Description: A lot of stunning ornamental foliage plants belong to the Philodendron genus. And among them is the Philodendron squamiferum, also known as Red Bristle Philodendron or Hairy Philodendron. It’s commonly grown as an indoor plant but also does well outdoors. Although a rare find, this species is an easy-to-grow one.
