Staghorn Fern (Platycerium)
Native to Africa, Australia and Southeast Asia.
Light: The Staghorn Fern will do best in bright indirect light. Never allow this plant to stand in direct sunlight-the leaves will become scorched.
Water:Allow your the soil to dry in between watering. Water when soil is 100% dry. But as soon as it gets to this point, proceed to water.
*We recommend Bottom-watering, sometimes called reverse watering, is when you place a plant in a bowl of water, allowing the soil and roots to soak water from the bottom up. (Naturally, your pot needs drainage holes for this to work.)
Humidity: The staghorn fern prefers at least 65 to 80% humidity. Mist often.
Temperature: The staghorn fern enjoys warmth-preferably between 65-85ºF, so maintain indoor temperatures above 60ºF. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Food: Feed your Staghorn once a month during the spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer for indoor plants.
Toxicity : Staghorn Ferns are non-toxic and are safe for humans, cats & dogs.
